Our Story

Shane's Kitty Adoption Center

Shane's Kitty Adoption Center came to fruition in 2022 after Chip and Jan Malley lost their son, Shane, in 2020. They both knew they wanted to memorialize his legacy through helping others, the way he always did. Whether it was giving money to friends in need or helping a kitty or doggy who needed a home, Shane was there to help. He was a bright beacon in the world of science, winning the only physics award in his senior high school class. Shane was an old soul who wanted everyone and every animal around him to be happy and comfortable and never know suffering. He volunteered at several animal shelters in Kentucky and Florida, often bringing home kitties off the streets and from the shelters. His heartfelt caring for those in need stood out in every facet of his life.

Shane's Kitty Adoption Center is a place for kitties who have been rescued from the streets, the woods, or abandoned without any chance of survival. Each room at the sanctuary is arranged as a family room with sofas, cushioned chairs, cat trees, meditation music and kitty television. Volunteers come daily to interact, cuddle, and play with the kitties to ensure they are being socialized and ready for adoptions. Our volunteers bring the kitties in for food, water, cozy places to sleep, and plenty of room to exercise in their own screened in patio, lovingly coined our "Catio".

Through our adoption center, we hope to help these kitties find their FUR-ever homes and hope that you'll join us in our efforts!
